MINEHUNTER L=25 m Type MPMB

minehunter

The vessel is designed as a low underwater signature, single hull vessel with com-bined main propulsion / hovering diesel driven plant, intended primarily for the detection of bottom influence mines by means of a side-scan sonar and their identification and neutralization by means of remote-operated underwater vehicles (ROVs), and secondarily fore line sweeping of moored mines. The main tasks of the vessel, carried out during up to seven days missions, are as follows:

  • - Sea bottom surveillance and recording, in protected waters.
  • - Detection and classification of mine-like objects lying on the sea bottom.
  • - Identification and marking or disposal of the detected mines.
  • - Line sweeping of moored mines and destroying of floating mines by gun fire.
  • - Marking of safe navigation routes.

The hull is built of GRP and specially designed to resist underwater explosions, and essential equipment and the crew are protected as well by resilient mounting. Special attention is paid to the achievement of low magnetic and underwater noise signature.
